Yes. The rope is treated with oil to enhance weather resistance and protect the natural fibers. This scent is normal for high-quality rope. We recommend uncoiling and airing it out outdoors for 3-5 days before indoor use.
Is this rope suitable for outdoor deck railings?

Absolutely. The oil treatment makes it highly resistant to sunlight and moisture, ideal for landscaping and deck railings. Like all natural fibers, it ages beautifully when exposed to the elements.
How do I cut the rope without it unraveling?

To prevent unraveling, strictly wrap the area you want to cut with heavy-duty tape first. Then, cut through the middle of the tape with a sharp knife. This keeps the strands secure for a clean end.
